Hand made Tattoos

Posted by Unknown on Saturday, November 10, 2012

I have read several articles all over the internet claiming that a large amount of people around the world are having severe allergic reactions to henna tattoos.

Granted most of these people have traveled out of the United States to somewhere in Asia. A nine year old girl from Greece got a henna tattoo and within hours of getting it, it blistered and when the blisters popped the ink began to scab off. Then it got redder and hotter. They went to a doctor and the doctor advised them to go to a burn unit at the hospital. Doctors are concerned that this temporary tattoo is going to scare this little girl for life.

There is also another horrible story about a 10 year old boy from Australia that is experience something a little different than blisters, very dark hair is growing around the henna tattoo.

Dermatologists say these horrible allergic reactions are being caused by the toxic dye para-phenylenediamine, or PPD, that these people are using while giving people these henna tattoos. This toxic dye is similar to the dye that is used in hair dye. Also experts are suggesting that these places in Asia are using black ink and not the traditional brown ink.

So the best advise dermatologists and parents who have children that have had reactions to these henna tattoos is just to avoid them all together, especially if you are out of the country. Also if you notice the ink they are using is black is another huge indication to stay away from them. If you want a fake tattoo just stick to the original temporary ones.

Portrait Tattoos

Posted by Unknown on Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Through the years portrait tattoos have always seemed to be a favorite with tattoo enthusiasts. There is just something very special about getting a portrait tattoo.

Not to mention if you have an excellent tattoo artist that does outstanding portrait tattoos, you get endless amount of compliments on it. It also opens the door for you explain and share the story behind the person's or animals' portrait you have tattooed on you. The most common portrait tattoos are of loved ones who have past away as well as a beloved pet and of course your children.

Just like with text tattoos, it's not such a great idea to get a lover's portrait tattooed on your body either. One thing you need to keep in mind about portrait tattoos is that they are different than regular tattoos. Some tattoo artist do not do portrait tattoos because they feel that won't be able to capture the person you are wanting tattooed on you. So the important thing to know is to ask your tattoo artist if they have experience with portrait tattoos and if they are not comfortable doing one.

If they are not don't hesitate to ask them to recommend another artist in the studio that is more qualified for the job. Also don't hesitate for a second to let your tattoo artist know if you do not like what they have drawn up. Ask them to be involved in the process, nine times out of ten they want you to be. Always remember to voice your opinion of your tattoo design, if you don't like what they have come up with be honest and let them know. After all you are the one who has to live with the tattoo not them

Celebrity Tattoos

When it comes to celebrity tattoos, there are two approaches that people consider. The first is to emulate a design that is similar to their favorite movie star, athlete, or musician.

The second approach is to actually pay homage to a celebrity by inking their likeness onto their body. For this reason, people are constantly keeping a lookout for the latest trends in celebrity tattoos.

As you scan your favorite magazine, television show, or film, the lives of celebrities unfold to the point that you are able to pinpoint each and every time they mark their body with a new tattoo. While you may or may not desire the same exact tattoo, their choices may encourage your creative juices and help you explore what you want out of a design.
Outside of athletes and musicians, one of the more popular tattooed celebrities is Angelina Jolie, who has influenced many to explore the world of tribal tattoos, with the dragon, tiger, and foreign writing found on her shoulders and arms.

While movie stars are rather influential in the trends of tattooing, the choices of musicians are followed as well. An assortment of R&B artists, hip-hop, and rock stars are often scrutinized for the various creations they display. For example, the "Thug Life" tattoo that Tupac showcased on his stomach has inspired numerous tattoo designs over the years.
While the tattoos that celebrities select have persuaded many to follow the same path, it is the accomplishments or connections that fans make with these stars that also influences tattoo designs. Music is a powerful source of healing, which has encouraged some to tattoo their favorite artists onto their body in remembrance of their heartache, pain, and triumph.

Some celebrity tattoos are meant to celebrate life and the things that mean the most. A musician may choose a tattoo of Mozart, while a painter may side with Van Gogh. Additional celebrity tattoos that are quite popular include Marilyn Monroe, Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jordan, and Bruce Lee.

Symbol Tattoo Designs

Posted by Unknown on Friday, October 5, 2012

Celtic artwork has become a very popular choice in tattoo designs, especially for people with a Celtic heritage, which includes Irish, Scottish, or Welsh. Much of the Celtic artwork comes from the Irish Illuminated Manuscripts which date back further than the Celtic tattoo artwork.

The creation of the Celtic motherhood symbol is part of the modern changes that have been made. The triquetra tattoos are designed with a heart inside to symbolize a mother's love while the motherhood symbol with three swirled designs is used as a symbol of power, luck, and fertility.

Another practice that has become very common is to get a Celtic butterflies tattoo,Celtic unity knot, or any other type of Celtic artwork, even though the individual has no Celtic heritage, but simply because they like the design.

Tattoos are not the only place you will see a Celtic unity knot, it can also be used in the making of jewelry. Some very popular jewelry designs of choice include the Celtic knot wedding band or other Celtic Knot rings. The Celtic knot work that is used doesn't have a literal translation but they are often made with no beginning and no end so that a Celtic unity knot may be used to represent something that is unending like love, life, or spirituality.

There are many different Celtic cross designs for tattoos and Celtic artwork is becoming increasingly popular as an art form in its own right. Even with those tattoos made to represent a specific object such as the Celtic butterfly tattoos, the knots and intricate work within the design is the main feature. The shape of the tattoo is not the most significant reason for the tattoo.

Celtic cross designs make up a major number of the Celtic tattoos designs. With the hundreds of different crosses, in a variety of intricate or simple designs, large or small, and those in combination with other symbols, there are so many choices that it can be difficult to narrow it down to the choice you want. Some of the Celtic cross designs are circular while others have an elongated trunk. There are different symbols associated with different styles of crosses. If symbolism is important to you, then you will have to do your research to find out the meanings for those that you are interested in using as your tattoo.

Celtic cross designs aren't the only ones that have a meaning. You may not choose them for their meaning, but all of the Celtic symbols used in tattoo designs have traditional meaning. Getting a tattoo with the Celtic motherhood symbol is more likely to be one that is chosen for its meaning rather than one that is based on Celtic artwork or something decorative like Celtic butterflies tattoos.

If you are looking at Celtic cross designs, there will be no shortage of tattoos to choose from at the tattoo stores and also on the internet. There are many sites where you can do your research and find quality tattoos that you can download and take to the tattoo artist.

Most of the tattoos that are based on Celtic artwork are done in black, but you can add color if you want a brighter design. The use of Black Ink is a necessity for those that like the tribal look for their tattoos.

Tattoo Arm Designs

Posted by Unknown on Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Arms are the most frequently tattooed part of the body. This common practice and choice has its roots both in Eastern and Western traditions and makes sense when you consider that our arms are very visible parts of our body and naturally lend themselves to being viewed in most situations.

Most frequently, we see that tattoo arm designs fall into two major categories, Japanese and American Traditional. These will frequently be naval or sailing tattoos, kitch Americana such as pin-up girls from the 40's and 50's style, flags, etc.. They are generally executed within a few basic styles, including different locations on the arm, different sizes, shapes and of course designs.

One popular style becoming more common as tattooing increases in popularity is the SLEEVE TATTOO. These can be a full sleeve which will cover the entire arm, a half sleeve which starts at the shoulder and extends to the forearm, and the quarter sleeve, or quarter arm tattoo which generally goes from the wrist to about the middle of the forearm.

The idea is that the tattoo is dense enough so that no bare skin is evident and the appearance is as if you were wearing an article. You can even find some tattoo 'sleeves" to actually wear that way on e-Bay though I don't recall seeing anyone wearing one myself J.

Another popular pattern for the sleeve is floral, and as you expect generally women will favor this approach. But that isn't written in stone by any means and with the right design a floral pattern will work excellently with men as well.

Your choice is your own, of course, but taking into consideration your build type in general and the size of your arms in relation to the rest of your body is something that would be wise to consider before applying the ink.

Another style you may want to consider is the WRIST TATTOO.
Wrist tattoos are also gaining in popularity, especially with women who enjoy the "bracelet" designs of Japanese, Amerind or Polynesian origin to name just a few. Many of these tattoo arm designs are frequently of the "Tribal" variety and have special meanings to their owners and are believed by many to have some charm effect for them.

Men frequently will choose these tribal patterns because of their starkness and bold coloration. Be sure to consider the cultural and stylistic aspects of any tattoo arm design you choose. Many tribal designs have been "modernized" for contemporary tattoo art and are quite extraordinary.

Other wrist tattoos have designed flame bracelets and the flames will extend various distances up towards the forearm from the wrist area. This style tends to be more associated with the "biker" look and relates well to contemporary Harley Davidson flame paint jobs, to name just one association.

Once you decide on your design for any of these styles, you will need to locate a reputable, experienced and hopefully talented artist to entrust your precious skin to. Be prepared to pay for these because they require a lot of work and time.

Tattoo Lettering

Posted by Unknown on Monday, August 20, 2012

Tatto lettering for girls is very popular. This art selection typically contains derivatives from the phonetic alphabet or the English alphabet-also known as the Latin alphabet or the Roman alphabet.

This writing system is based upon sounds instead of pictures. This means that symbols are used as representations of the tattoo lettering for girls. Using this writing system, each symbol is used to represent a specific phoneme, or sound. In the English alphabet, there are twenty six letters which each represent a phoneme. It is this alphabet which is generally associated with different languages throughout the world. There are two versions of the English alphabet as well as the Latin alphabet which are used simultaneously.

The first of this is the uppercase lettering, or capitalized lettering which is referred to as majuscule. The second is the lower case lettering referred to as minuscule. While the sounds are the same, the shapes are different. When the alphabet for the lettering for girls features both forms, it is referred to as bicameral. When you are thinking about choosing this design, it is important to think about which alphabet you would prefer to use and the meaning behind them.

For Chinese and Japanese Kanji, a single symbol might be all that you want for your tattoo lettering for girls. If there is a phrase which has been particularly meaningful in your life, an experience which left you remembering a few important titles, a loved one who is now lost, children or your spouse or significant other, or a special location, tattoo lettering for girls is a great way to permanently display this. Once you have decided on the wording, the next important factor to consider is the font.

The artwork of a tattoo is the ability to convey your personalised thoughts not just through words, but through appearance. This means the size, shape, style, font, and colours used, as well as where on your body you want the tattoo. Tattoo lettering for girls is actually a font in and of itself, designed by a Canadian by the name of Daniel Gauthier. This man also designed the Chinese Stop Watch as well as the Chang Chang fonts. No matter the font or the colours, tattoo lettering for girls can be a solid colour or an open outline which is then filled with another design or colours. There are so many choices online, just take the time and choose that perfect lettering that conveys everything you want it to say
